Ada Lopez-Mendez, M.D., Medical Director of Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation Center
Dr. Mendez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at University Hospital, University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, and a fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine- Rheumatology Program and the University of Alabama at Birmingham-Rheumatology Program. She completed the Master of Science in Public Health Program, Epidemiology and Biometry Tract, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham-School of Public Health. She is Board Certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine, and is a Certified Member of the American Society of Neurorehabilitation. She is Florida and Alabama licensed. She has been with Winter Haven Hospital Rehabilitation Services since 1990.
William L. Earp, M.D. , Assistant Medical Director of Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation Center, Consultant Physician of the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center
Dr. Earp graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He completed his residency in Orthopaedics at the U.S. Air Force Hospital. He is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is Florida licensed. He has been with Winter Haven Hospital Rehabilitation Services since 1993.
Lorraine D. Proctor, M.A., CCC-SLP, Administrative Director of Rehabilitation Services
Ms. Proctor graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Michigan University. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is Florida licensed as a speech-language pathologist. She participates on the Florida Hospital Association-Florida Society for Rehabilitation. She has specialized in adult communication/swallowing disorders, resulting from stroke and brain injuries. She has been with Winter Haven Hospital Rehabilitation Services since 1995.
Alice Hearn, B.S. PT, Administrative Director of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
Ms. Hearn graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy from Boston University and is Florida licensed. She is a member of the Florida Physical Therapy Association as a past Board Member and currently active on the APTA legislative committee. She is a member of the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce Leadership Group and participates in the Winter Haven Hospital Speakers Bureau. She has broad experience in treating adult physical disorders and currently in charge of the orthopedic and neurological outpatient programs. She has been with Winter Haven Hospital Rehabilitation Services since 1992.
James L. McEwen, Ph.D., ABDA, Program Director, Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation Center
Dr. McEwen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Music-Music Therapy from William Carey College. He graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. For ten years, he was a surveyor for CARF (The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission), and has been a Senior Disability Analyst and Diplomate for the American Board of Disability Analysts (ABDA). He is the newest member of our leadership team, coming to us with over 20 years of experience in rehabilitation leadership.
Pamela Lane-Mendoza, M.A., CCC-SLP, Clinical Manager, Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation Center
Ms. Lane-Mendoza graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Illinois University. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is Florida licensed as a speech-language pathologist. Ellen Lockwood, RN, Nursing Unit Manager, Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation Center
Ms. Lockwood graduated from Brockton Hospital School of Nursing and is currently in the nursing program at Nova Southeastern University to obtain her Master’s Degree. She has 25 years of experience as an RN and is certified in Orthopedic Nursing. Ms. Lockwood has worked at Winter Haven Hospital since 1990 and has been the manager of the Joy-Fuller Rehabilitation Center for 4 years.
